Friday iPhone Photo Dump!

Happy Friday!
1. I had seafood for the first time on Tuesday night! Yes, I live in Maine and have never had seafood. Growing up I was a picky eater and was terrified to try another out of the ocean. Oh, and neither of my Boston bred parents ate seafood so by the time I was 10 and my step-parents came along(both grew up in Maine) they could not convince me to try it! Lobster is Pete's favorite food and he loves seafood but when one of my daycare Dad's brought over a fresh piece of Halibut I knew I just had to be a big girl! I tried it and liked it! Pete is still shocked I ate it :)
2. Hi, my name is Peter. This photo never gets old for me. They usually are all annoyed when I try to take a pic of all four of them, but some day, they will thank me :)
3. This reminds me so much of when I was a little girl. Last weekend when I was down visiting my friend Cristina, we got on 95 at this exit on our way to meet my sister, the boys and my Mom. This reminds me of all the times we use to go down to visit my family. Instant Memories.
5. LOVE this pic of Peter and his friend Ruby! So much laughter from them while playing with the bouncy house. They loved when I turned it off and it would start to lose air, they were so funny!
6. Lola and Jack at Bertucci's when we were down visiting.
7. My wild man, Jack. Enough said :)

Brushetta Pasta

I love Brushetta so when I saw this on one of my favorite food blogs, Stephanie Cooks, I knew I had to try it! I make a summer salad with pesto often but I really loved this! All four of us enjoyed it last night! I served it to the daycare kids and myself cold for lunch and it was just as good served cold! A perfect summertime meal!

Source: Stephanie Cooks

Ingredients:
1 cup grape tomatoes, cut in fourths
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced(We used garlic scapes from our garden)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 pound pasta, any shape
1/3 cup pesto sauce
1/4 cup alfredo sauce

Directions:
1- Toss the tomatoes, oil, vinegar, garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl, stir well. Allow to marinade at least an hour, up to two days, in the refrigerator. When ready to prepare the pasta allow tomato mix to come to room temperature since the oil mix will likely thicken in the fridge.
2- Prepare the pasta according to packaging directions. Drain, toss with the pesto and alfredo until the pasta is lightly coated and hot. Sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese.
3- Top with the tomato mixture.

Addition Part 3

Where did we leave off? Pete has been working his butt off every.day. on this.  In the last week it has really been coming along. We are very lucky to have family and friends who have given their time.  You can catch up here on part 1 & part 2!

Pete was trying to get the dirt compacted so that the foundation could be poured early last Saturday morning. He spent HOURS on Friday evening digging out water with a small bucket then filling it back in with dry dirt hoping he would finish before the rain came again.
Our brand new neighbor and his father in law came over to help get the compacter in then stayed to make sure Pete got the ground covered as it started to rain! Thanks Doug & Ray!
The foundation guys called Pete at 6:30 on Saturday morning to see if it had stayed dry! They arrived an hour later and poured the slab.
Pete wrote our names in :)
Ready to go!
It took Saturday to dry, then early Saturday morning Pete and his Dad got right to work!
Peter was ready to jump in at any time to lend a hand :)

I delivered the sunscreen & beverages, hehe :)

He spent a couple evenings during the week ripping the siding off the house. On Friday night, Pete started framing.
Jack loves going out while Daddy is working to cause trouble :)

Saturday all the walls went up! Thanks Joe, Brandon & Wayne!
Trying to get the third wall finished and up!
All the walls are up!
Next post will be the roofing! What do you think so far?!
