Memorial Day Weekend Recap

What a fun Memorial Day 2012 weekend we had!
Friday night started off with a movie, popcorn and some relaxing time after the kids went to bed!
Saturday morning, while Pete had to move 8 yards of dirt, the boys and I headed to Kettle Cove and met up with The Sullivans and Walters. I alway love watching the kids play together!
Violet and Jack love each other :)
My boys and I enjoying Kettle Cove :)
Exhausted on the way home!

On Saturday night, My Dad and I took Peter to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway to watch the races, he LOVED it! We've already made plans to go back on Father's Day weekend!
I can never get this kid to say cheese and look at the camera at the same time :)

On Sunday, after a great day outside at home with the boys, Pete and I took Peter back to Beech Ridge for Day of Destruction! I didn't have my phone(story in Friday's post) or my little Nikon so this is the only photo I got with Pete's phone. Another fun night!
We ended the weekend with a fun filled Monday!
First the parade with Nonni & Poppi!
the best family photo we could get...
After a cookout with Nonni & Poppi we ended the day with some friends for a redneck patio!

Last Day of Preschool

Yesterday Peter had his last day of preschool. Did he just start? It was a family day so I got to spend the morning with him. It was so nice to have that time with him :)

No my child does not have sensory issues, he is obsessed with his "tractor pulls" right now and was convinced even though it was the last day of school, it was still a show & tell day! Even though we have told him the proper name, he still likes to call them tractor pulls because that is where he first wore them. He finally agreed to put them in his bag until school was over :)
Peter and his friend Gideon :)
We then headed down to Friendship Hall where all the classes got to watch a magic show!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this photo of Gideon(he is also one of my daycare kids)when he saw the magician pull out the bunny!!
After the magic show, All the kids got called up and recieved certificates, so cute!
Landon (another one of my daycare kids)

My little boy is growing up :)
Thank you for a great experience Mrs LeClair!
with Miss Terry, the director. As you can see he found his "tractor pulls" again.

Gardening

When did I become into gardening? I have no freakin clue! Click here for my attempts last year! In the last couple of weeks, I have kind of gotten into it. I've enjoyed working outside. I got a bunch of plants from my next door neighbor and came up with the idea to make a little perennial garden in the corner of the back yard that use to have the pool.
A little gardening inspiration :)
Placing the plants to see how I should lay it out.
How Pretty!
I found this "rock" at The Christmas Tree Shop and thought it would be perfect!

The finished project! All it cost was the $1.69 for the "rock" everything else I got for free!

Addition Has Begun!!

We had a 5 year plan.Well year 5 has come and with a short sale next door and a foreclosure two doors down, we're stuck here for a while. It's a great neighborhood, we have fun neighbors and this house has the potential to be what we want! We always said since we've had the boys that we're one room short. SOOO, we decided to add a family room, turn our living room into a dining room, move the basement stairs and make the kitchen and dining room one big room with an island in the middle. Still with me? Pete got the call on Friday that our building permit was ready so we hit the ground running, enjoying our last meal on the deck Friday night :)
One last look at the deck. We're also changing the siding, can't wait for that, I have NEVER liked the color of our house!
Pete decided to get a head start Friday night.
Came home from a birthday party to see this on Saturday afternoon!
Peter was just dying to help!
bye bye deck!
Sunday morning Papa Rick came over to start digging! The boys loved it!
Peter was ready for day 2
It's coming along!
Jack acting like Papa in the sandbox ;)
Where did my back yard go?
Peter got to get in and help Papa dig!

The boys got to check it out when it was all finished! Fun for them!

This weekend the foundation is being poured, stay tuned!!!
