Maine Wildlife Park

Yesterday, Nicole, Gwen, Lola, Peter, Jack and I went to the Maine Wildlife Park. We got to see Deer, Bobcats, Bears, Geese, and many different birds. The kids all enjoyed it!
So many animals to see and Peter loved watching the construction of the new Mountain Lion home!

Checking out the Moose!

Jack fell asleep on the way there and slept the entire time, he has no idea he even went, haha!

Who Wants To Be A Guest Blogger?

Many people come here to the blog for my menu planning and recipes. I love when I run into people and they tell me they used a recipe or got a dinner idea from my blog.  Every summer I take off from menu planning but I have added a couple recipes. July has been very busy for us, the oven hasn't been on so much and I haven't posted as much as I would have liked but I thought, what if I had some of my readers guest post a recipe they would like to share. So, who would like to be a guest on my blog? Leave a comment and let me know!!

Sophia & Asmara Visit

For those of you that don't know, when I lived in Boston(I'll have to write a post about that!) I was a nanny(another great post I could write) for a little girl named Sophia. She was 2 1/2 when I started, and I worked with her for three years. I have remained close to the family, she was the flowergirl at my wedding. We alway try to visit them when we head down to Boston and they always try to get up to Maine to visit in the summer time. She has a cousin Asmara who I met when she was 6, she use to come up to visit every summer and still does. It is always great to see them.

New Camera!

For those of you who don't remember, I got my Nikon D40 for my 30th birthday. I LOVE that camera!! It takes the best photos, but it is bulky and dragging it some places is a pain. I have wanted a smaller camera to be able to throw in the diaper bag or my purse so that I can keep capture some great moments but not have to bring my expensive camera! So, for my 32nd birthday, my Mom bought me the Nikon Coolpix S3100! It's great, small and I have already enjoyed not having to lug my big camera bag certain places. So from now on when I talk about my cameras it will be "big" Nikon & "little" Nikon.

Here are a couple of images I've captured with it this week......

Happy Jack... we don't see this face to often, haha

Thought it would be fun to do fingerpainting with Peter while the babies slept this morning....

...... it ended up being way more messier then I expected!!!

We have 6 cucumber plants!

Yay! The cukes are starting to grow, we can now pick some!

Birthday Weekend

I had a fabulous birthday weekend! I took Friday off(it should be a national holiday) and the boys and I went out to breakfast at Charlie's. We enjoyed a visit with Kelli, Ethan, Melissa and the Storey twins. Then we headed up for a quick shopping trip to get my birthday present from my Mom, and onto Rick's Cafe for lunch we went! Lola & Peter loved sitting on the bench and watching all the traffic go by, he was so still!!! I had never been on the Songo River Queen on Long Lake, so we took the afternoon cruise!

We really enjoyed the boat cruise. We even saw my Aunt Peggy & Uncle Peter when we went by their house! They then drove down to the causeway and treated us to a cocktail for my birthday ;) Nonni & Lola watched the boys while Pete and I went to one of our favorite restaruants, JP's. It was so good!

O
On Saturday, we went over to the Brewer's for a cookout with Kelli's family, then Pete, Brandon, Kelli's Dad & Brother went stripper fishing. When they came back, we enjoyed a campfire. We all had a great time :) It's so nice having neighbors who have now become great friends! Thanks to her blog(you should follow, she is a riot) I was able to post these photos.

On Sunday morning we headed up to Nonni & Poppi's to go swimming and Jack went on his first boat ride!

Jack did great on his first ride! Both boys actually fell asleep! Before we left, Peter got in one last ride on his boat float! We had to drag him out of the water, he is such a fish!

After we left, we then headed over for a visit to Papa & Mame's. My Dad had just finished his horseshoe pits so we helped break them in! We've got to get ready for the "tournament" down on the Cape in August!

You can't play horseshoes and not enjoy some margarita's!!

As we were leaving, Papa & Peter had a little fun with the sprinkler! It was a wonderful weekend!

Summer Saturday

Last Saturday we spent the morning at Scarborough Beach. Lola joined us since she is staying up here for a few weeks. We had an awesome time and our exhausted, shivering 2 year old was not happy when it was time to go!

We decided to build a sand castle that ended up including a gravel driveway, fenced in yard, a deck overlooking the pool and a diving board!

After the beach we headed up to my Mom's. Her cousin Carol was up visiting to celebrate her birthday. My Aunt Peggy & Uncle Pete also came to join us for dinner and also got some more swimming in!

Ending our fun day with a campfire!
