Easter Bunny Adventure

This post was suppose to be before Easter, but you know how life is! On the Thursday before Easter, my Mom and I took the kids to see the Easter Bunny. In December it took a couple times of seeing Santa before he got on his lap, and I managed to get a photo. I thought since Peter likes animals he would like E. Bunny... yeah not so much. Jack on the other hand, did great. He never even woke up, haha! We'll try again next year!

Trying to convince Peter that the E. Bunny is a friendly guy... he's not buying it!

"If you take a picture for Mommy, we can go ride the horses!"

The best picture we could get....

Trying to run... he wanted to go to the carousal!

A cheerful Peter away from the bunny and riding the horse!

Rosemary Roasted Chicken with Potatoes

In a move to simplify things, my friend Dianna told me about McCormick Recipe Inspirations. They have many and we bought a couple but this is the one we liked best. We have these spices in the cupboard so I saved the recipe card and will be cooking this again!

prep time: 15 minutes
cook time: 30 mintues

2 tsp. Paprika
1 1/2 tsp. crushed rosemary leaves
1 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 tsp. coarse ground black pepper
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. olive oil
6 bone-in chicken thighs, skin removed (about 2lbs.)
1 1/2 lbs. small red potatoes, cut into 1 inch cubes

1. Mix oil and all of the spices in large bowl. Add chicken and potatoes; toss to coat well. Arrange chicken and potatoes in single layer on foil-lined baking pan sprayed with no stick cooking spray.

2. Roast in preheated 425F oven for 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and potatoes are tender.

National High Five Day

Who knew?? I never heard about this until the fabulous world of facebook. So then I had to google it and there is even a website!!

Many of you, well anyone that was at our wedding, know that Pete and I have a high 5 history. At the end of our first date, Pete high fived me as I was getting out of the car. Yes, I was surprised by it also. I went into the house and told my sister how the date did not end with a kiss but a high five!  It was a running joke after that! So it was only appropriate that we high fived at our wedding after our first kiss. I really wish we had a photo of that moment, we don't even have a photo of our first kiss (I'm still sad about both).

At our reception, My sister Laura gave her maid of honor speech and it was all about when I walked in the house from our first date! I walked in the door, said I just got high fived, then told her that this relationship was going to go no where! I love this photo of us all laughing as she told this story. A high five can lead to a happy ending!

Happy National High Five Day!!!! A day after my own heart :)

Two Kisses for Maddy Book Review

About the Book:
Matt and Liz Logelin were high school sweethearts. After years of long-distance dating, the pair finally settled together in Los Angeles, and they had it all: a perfect marriage, a gorgeous new home, and a baby girl on the way. Liz’s pregnancy was rocky, but they welcomed Madeline, beautiful and healthy, into the world on March 24, 2008.

Just twenty-seven hours later, Liz suffered a pulmonary embolism and died instantly, without ever holding the daughter whose arrival she had so eagerly awaited. Though confronted with devastating grief and the responsibilities of a new and single father, Matt did not surrender to devastation; he chose to keep moving forward– to make a life for Maddy.

My Thoughts;
I started crying reading the forward. It is a love story. It is a life story. The raw emotions and limitless love made me laugh and cry all way through. I laughed reading about Matt navigating his way through fatherhood and I cried because he made Liz so alive in the pages you felt the pain of what she was missing out on. It made me wish I had been her friend. It shows you the power of love in life and death. The book made me feel truly lucky for what I have.

I started reading his blog about two years ago and even though I knew the story, it was still a wonderful book. If you get a chance, check out the Liz Logelin Foundation.

Jack Photos

Last week I went to a baby shower for a friend who is expecting identical twin boys!!! She works with someone who is a photographer and while we were at the shower she took some photos of Jack. I love taking photos but unless I ask someone to take a picture of me, I never am in one. Jack being the second child, I probably don't take as many photos of him as I did of Peter as a newborn so it was nice that my friend e-mailed me these pictures this morning.

some photos of Jack....

Cousin Cameron

Cameron Albert McInnis entered the world yesterday at 9:22am weighing 8lbs 3oz. He is 23 inches long! A big boy! We were excited to head up to Waterville after Pete got out of work so that we could see Jenny & Craig and meet Cameron. They are all doing well. I am so proud of Jenny, she did awesome and looked great hours after giving birth. I got teary eyed when I meet Cameron,he looked so perfect and I am looking forward to the hours of play my boys will have with him. It's going to wild in a few years when all the boys head to Grammie & Grampie's!!

Seriously, he is so adorable! I LOVE his head of hair :) The Pete's meet Cam! For a few minutes before we explained who's baby it was, Peter didn't seem interested in meeting Cameron... I think he thought we were going to bring another baby home, hahaha!! Jenny did great! Spending some time with her son and nephew. of course I had to get some snuggle time with him! How cute is this kid! The Wescott Cousins :)

Gotta Love A Gator!

Months ago while shopping at Walmart, Peter wanted to go down the bike aisle. While strolling down the aisle he stopped in his tracks when he saw the John Deere gator powerwheel. He was in love! Pete and I looked at each other and knew it would be the perfect birthday gift! Since he has a ton of toys and clothes when people asked what he wanted/needed for his birthday we told them Walmart gift cards.

On Sunday morning we headed to Walmart to pick it up. He was so cute when he saw the box being loaded onto the truck. When we got home, he was ready to put it together!!

Trying to figure out how to sit without the seats, haha! Helping Daddy put together the tractor!

Pete liked the cup holders!

Delivering the groceries to the door for Mommy :)

A very happy boy!
