Menu Plan Monday... on Tuesday

I'm a day late. Yesterday we lost Pete's grandfather after a long hard fight. We spent all weekend and Monday at the hospice house being with family. It's a bittersweet time, you are losing a loved one but get to spend time with people you love. My heart is with Pete, his mom, sisters and the rest of the family. Needless to say, I am not up for much cooking this week and not sure what the week will bring us, Pete and I both woke up with colds this morning.  One of my daycare Mom's came in this morning with a bunch of ifferent kinds of soup her husband had made, It was so thoughtful. Hug your loved ones and enjoy your week :)

Monday: We had sandwiches at Memere's
Tuesday: Wing night at Stockhouse
Wednesday: Soup(thanks Walter's family!), salad and bread
Thursday: BLT's
Friday: Takeout!

New Year's Eve!

For New Years Eve, we headed down to Abington, MA, where Laura hosted a little family party! Nicole, Gwen, Allie, Nonni & Poppi make the trek from Maine as well. Chris's sister, and parents joined us. Laura did a great job decorating and as always, made a fun, relaxing night feel special! Everyone had a great time!

Our choices for the evening :)

Gwen & Peter enjoying some batter from brownies :)
Carol stopped by for a while to enjoy some family time :)
The kids playing twister, Peter and Gwen did great with their colors.... Jack not so much :)
While the kids play twister, we might as well take a pic :)
How cute is Allie's hat?
Jack getting a bottle from Lola before he goes to sleep
Laura and Chris ordered dinner from Great Chow... seriously best chinese food I've ever had!

We enjoyed our night so much! Relaxing but fun :)
Peter lasted until 11:10 before he crashed! I was shocked he made it that late!
Happy New Year! Welcome 2012!

Menu Plan Monday

We just spent a fun, relaxing weekend up to Ben & Bethany's Camp in Bridgton (Thanks again!). On Saturday night we had Chicken club sandwiches. They were so good and we had a discussion on how simple these are to make, dinner always has a stigma that it has to be more elaborat then sandwiches but the sandwiches hit the spot and will be on our menu plan shortly! Last week we tried some new recipes and we really liked the Dijon Crusted Chicken, you should try it! Trying another new recipe this week for the slow cooker and I'm looking forward to it! Have some good recipes/ideas for a meal? Comment right here on my post or leave a comment on my blog's facebook page! Have a great week everyone!

Monday: Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff
Tuesday:  Hamburgers  homemade, pan fried, grilled buns... yum :)
Wednesday: Italian Pot Roast
Thursday: I'm going to the movies with Mara, popcorn for me! Boys are making Omelettes
Friday:  Takeout....pizza has been our go to lately!

10 Months.. Wow!

Look who's 10 months old today! I can't believe Jack will be a year old in two months! The first few months were such a rocky road for me. Jack was a very fussy baby, I was trying to juggle two kids, have a business in my home while on maternity leave, and pretend everything was fine with me! I use to say I was riding the bipolar roller coaster. Around month 5, Jack turned a corner and became such a happy baby! He started laughing, smiling, and crawling! He is almost walking, and climbs on and off the couch like it's his business!
Lock up your daughters ladies, here comes Jack!
Jack with my baby photo :)

He likes to sit with the big kids at lunch :)

He has been such an added joy to our family!

For those of you who see him often, you know how he has his devilish streak! We actually call him the menace, as in Dennis the menace! If we say menace, even Peter call him that, Jack will turn and laugh!
He are a few thing he has been busy doing as he approaches 10 months old!

Trying to grab a munchkin, evidently he thought it was rude we didn't offer him one!
He ALWAYS goes for Bela's dishes!
He thinks it's funny to try and pull stuff out of the dishwasher while you're trying to load it! He is such a trouble maker!
I'm going to say the can felt cool on his teething gums, but I really think he was trying to steal a beer! I mean come on... his middle name is Murphy :)
Grabbing my camera while I'm trying to take photos :)
He climb onto a chair, then climbed to the top of the chair to try and grab an ornament! This was one of his favorite pastimes the month of December! See the basketball ornament on the tree to the right? He succeeded in getting that, and laughed when I grabbed it from him!
wrestling with Peter! They love to do this!

The boys playing... you can see they were so upset we were leaving!
Shannon, Emily and I all went to the same school for preschool! Us Moms, had a harder time leaving then the boys, haha! As a Mom, it was bittersweet for me. Peter was having fun and happy to start this new adventure with his friends!

Menu Plan Monday

Last Tuesday, Pete and I took the boys to the Olive Garden for lunch. There was two women and a small boy and we casually said hi as both our boys were equipped with cars and tractors to entertain. One of the women spoke up and said " This is going to sound funny but I read  your blog." I of course smiled huge and it made my day. She told me she recongized the boys and really enjoys reading my menu planning(It was great meeting you Angie)! This week I cleaning out the pantry and freezer, we have so much stuff!! I took inventory of what we had in the fridge, freezer and pantry and I am planning my meals around it. When I went to the store last night I bought, a green pepper, bananas, a cucumber, bread and celery. Talk about a low grocery bill this week! Have a great first week of 2012 and if you haven't already, "like" my blog page on facebook :)

Monday: Tacos
Wednesday: Texas Hash
Thursday: Dijon Crusted Chicken, rice and salad
Friday: takeout :)

New Year, New Resolutions, New Name!

Thanks for a great year 2011! I love to reflect on this day about the last year. I also got to look back at my 2010 and 2011 resolution posts. While I can't write as beautifully as Lindsey Mead, to put into words how I feel about 2011... fortunate and blessed. We welcomed Jack into our family and what an addition it has been to the family. He.completed.us. While the first few months were very bumpy for us, we got through them and it has been amazing watching our boys grow. They are both amazing and Pete and I are very lucky to be their parents. I excited to see what 2012 has in story for the Wescott family :)

2012 Resolutions
1. Still working on my blog! I did reach my goal of making 100 posts in May but I am still working on way to improve it!  There are so many things I want to still learn how to do, I'm not computer savvy. What do
you think of my new blog name? If you have any other ideas for a name, let me know! I want to work on
my writings, I've almost been doing this blog for three years now and I'd like to think it's getting better and
better! Any one want to be my sponsor and send me to this conference :)

2. Still working on my weight! I did so well after having Jack. I looked and felt the best I had in a long time.
Then I welcomed pinot grigio back in my life and it all went down hill. I want to drink more water, eat    healthier and watch my portions better. I want to look at myself and be happy with how I look.

3. Still working on me time! After having Jack it was very hard finding time for myself. It has recently gotten a
lot easier to slip out of the house. I went and had a massage on Friday at Heaven and Earth in Windham
and it was wonderful. I am so busy being Peter and Jack's Mom but I also need to remember that I am    Jennifer. This blog has become a wonderful hobby for me but I would still like to learn how to knit. Anyone
 want to teach me :)

Welcome 2012.. I think you and I are going to have a great year together :)
